Holly Mitchell Studio

I grew up in the UK and moved to Canada in 2020. My life in British Columbia began on a flower farm in Pemberton, working as a florist, surrounded by blooms from sunrise to sunset. Those seasons taught me to notice every petal, and that love of flowers has shaped everything I’ve made since.

Nearly three years ago I borrowed my sister’s iPad, started doodling the places I loved, and never gave it back (sorry, sis!). That’s where every one of these designs began. Now based in Vancouver, I turn spots across BC into illustrations, pairing each place with the wildflowers and wildlife you’d find there: lupines at Taylor Meadows, daffodils on Pender Island, orcas off Ucluelet.

One of my favourite parts of this journey has been the art markets: chatting with people, hearing which places mean the most to them, and watching someone spot their favourite hike on a card.My art is a way of sharing the places that make me happiest, little moments of colour you can hold, gift or stick on your water bottle.
